Treak.no is a company with roots in Valdres and Innlandet, specializing in Norwegian ingredients and traditions. The main product is “Treak,” a traditional treat made from juniper berries. Juniper berries – called “briskebær” in the local dialect – are found in abundance in the areas around Jotunheimen, and were once widely used in everyday life: in everything from brewing beer to smoking meat and fish, or as tea and a home remedy for various ailments. 

The goal is to give this versatile ingredient a renaissance. To the delight of many, this delicacy now comes in two versions: the juniper caramel “Troll” and the original “Treak.” Both use the same recipe, made only with fresh cream, brown sugar, and juniper berries. Enjoy! 

Treak was the 2015 winner of Det Norske Måltid in the category “Årets Godbit” (Treat of the Year).
